Every once in a while, I get the urge to do some decluttering and a super duper deep clean of my space. This urge is especially strong come springtime. After a long winter I think we’re all ready for a refresh in our homes. And now that we’re all spending a lot more time than we usually would in our homes, I thought I would compile a list of easy, quick ways we can bring new life to them. When we think of spring cleaning, certain tasks might immediately come to mind like decluttering or organizing our closets. Here are a few ways you can spruce up some of the overlooked areas of your home this spring:
Turn Your Fridge Into an Inspiration Station!
Our fridges tend to be one of those areas that’s lower on the priority list and often gets overlooked, yet it’s something we tend to interact with every day. Instead of allowing the outside of your fridge to accumulate with coupons you’ll never use, and other tired paraphernalia, make it a space that sparks joy, and inspires you each time you pass by. Print out a bunch of inspirational quotes, and some pictures or art. Things that make you smile, feel happy and inspired!
Rearrange a Bookshelf and Add Some Fresh Décor
Oftentimes our bookshelves are an afterthought if not last on the priority list when it comes to organization or décor. Try out different layouts and have fun switching up your arrangement. The spirit of the spring season is growth, and what better way is there to inspire personal growth, than to give some love to the area you keep your books? How many times have you shelved a book and said to yourself that you’ll get to it later but later never seems to come? Making the space you keep your books more visually appealing may be just the thing that will motivate you to read those books you’ve been meaning to get to, or finish, but keep putting off.
Create a Meditation Space
Is there are nook or corner of your home that is unused? Turn it into a place that brings you peace the moment step foot there. It doesn’t have to be big or elaborate. Put down a floor pillow, place an essential oil diffuser, some plants, crystals and anything that helps you slip into meditation mode.
